I understand that this request is not easy to implement, BUT...
It is in my opinion the ONLY right way for us to go.

Many people use DataBases (DB) to handle authentication because it is an easy way to do it. It was never designed to do this and will eventually cause problems later on down the road. Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) can be difficult to set up correctly and there are too many different ways to do it.

The good thing about this is that we would not have to start...

DNS - validate record BEFORE saving

Hello all. Current situation:
ISPconfig -> edit dns record -> insert some not correct records like A and CNAME to the same target -> save -> ispconfig updates the zone file and run the check via named-checkzone. If the check fails, the zone file is renamed to .err and kicked out from the bind without any warning. The correct behaviour should be you enter some bad records, ispconfig will check it and tell you there is an error and will not save it to the zone file.

File Manager Feature Missing in ISPconfig

Can we have filemanager feature in ISPconfig.
so that client can edit /add /modify /copy /move files and or direcotries.
also set read/write permissions on them.

Import DNS zone files from the server

Can I suggest a new "import" option inside the "DNS" section to parse the zone files of the server?.

In example, this php class works very well to parse the DNS zone files:

I have tried this code with all my zone files and it works perfectly. All the values are placed inside arrays without failures. With a similar import option one would be sure the ISPConfig interface and the server...

Ive asked this question a year back and still no result, sorry to say.

Awstats in ISPConfig is not right, its supposed to work on the fly or done via Cron each day yes. Its not suppose to generate .html files, and all options are supposed to be on the left providing real information for the enduser.

What we have at the moment seems to be somekind of cowboy job, yes i agree i cannot do better myself, but we need the proper thing.

ISPConfig 2.2.35 comes with it as standard and when...

Other feacture is view statistics for domains although they are in different site accounts.

Example:
site1 = a.example.com
site2 = b.example.com

I can see stats for site1 and site2, but i can't see the global stats for domain example.com

I think it's a good idea to be able to add reason, when I add a email or IP address in postfix blacklist.

I trying to add test@domain.com as blacklist sender and send from this mail.
When send mail I received mail on test@domain.com from mailer demon:

said: 554 5.7.1 : Sender address rejected

When opening ispconfig db and find test@domain.com I add after REJECT (spacekey)You are banned.

REJECT You are banned.

A sitebuilder to use with ISPConfig?

I'm looking for advice on a good sitebuilder.

I'm setting up a server to allow a lot of non-profit organisation to set up their own website. I'll be providing this as a free service and was thinking of using ISPConfig to set up the domains, and give each user their own control panel to set up emails etc.

As many of these organisations will be new to websites and hosting I'm looking for a sitebuilder to put on the server for them too. I'd want this to be very user friendly. Although...

First, when you're creating a reseller, don't give the option of a template if that template converts that reseller into a client. Just don't show it, or have templates applying to either client or reseller. I was questioning my sanity when i'd create a reseller and then find the reseller in the client list.

Allow template creation for resellers.

Would also be nice if you could have some finer grain control over what "packages" a reseller could hand out.

I just wanted to ask if you are working on lighttpd-support, because lighttpd is very fast and good configurable...

If you haven't started such a thing yet, I did it (only poorly, but effective...)

It's quite easy but effective:
- I made a PHP-Script to query my ispconfig-vhosts from mysql and return lighttpd configuration directives
- I added the script to my lighty-config...
