I get this email, and a lot (1100x and then I stopped Postfix).

This is the Postfix program at host megelinkserver.nl.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>

    The Postfix program

    <[email protected]>: mail for localhost.localdomain.nl
    loops back to myself

    Reporting-MTA: dns; mydomain.nl
    X-Postfix-Queue-ID: E98A31000F6E
    X-Postfix-Sender: rfc822; [email protected]
    Arrival-Date: Fri, 21 Dec 2007 18:58:24 +0100 (CET)

    Final-Recipient: rfc822; [email protected]
    Action: failed
    Status: 5.0.0
Diagnostic-Code: X-Postfix; mail for localhost.localdomain.nl loops back to
    myself

Everytime I start Postfix again I am getting this mails again after the first mail is sent to my email address. If no mail is sent I do not get the mails, but after de first mail is sent they keep coming.

Hope someone can help me. Thanks

p.s. I changed my own domain to mydomain and the email address to [email protected] in the text above.

I found a solution in another post here.

I added the domain localhost.localdomain.nl to the /etc/postfix/local-host-names file.

It works now, but I still like to know how this could happen. I don't like it to happen again offcourse.

    Thans Jorem,

I add localhost.localdomain to the /etc/postfix/local-host-names file and postfix stop sending to me the same mail 12000 times.
