I believe I have a similar problem although I'm a little more confused on what is going on. Our situation: We see *lots* of emails in our /var/log/maillog like the following: May 23 04:55:13 webserver sendmail[11220]: o4N3tDw8011220: to=[email protected], delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=30141, relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (Ok: queued as 45F1B60E0138) May 23 04:14:08 webserver postfix/local[21974]: DD08260E0138: to=<[email protected]>, relay=local, delay=0.25, delays=0.04/0.01/0/0.2, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to command: /usr/bin/procmail -f-) I am confused as to what these emails are as they appear to be sent to the admispconfig user on both our official hostname and localhost.localdomain I have tried to read the email for the admispconfig user and the maildir appears to be completely empty. Are these emails some form of spam? Should they be happening? If not, is there a way to stop them being generated? There does appear to be lots of them going through our maillogs. Any advice appreciated. Thanks. Steve. PS. What is the difference between an email which just says "Sent" and one which has a status of "Sent" (delivered to command: /usr/bin/procmail -f-) ? What is this actually doing?
No. Yes. admispconfig is not a real mailbox, it is a script which generates the mail traffic statistics in ispconfig.
Thanks Till for your excellent and speedy response as always I will safely ignore these in our mail logs from now on!
