Hi all. My name is Matt. I am a brand spanking nooby to Linux. I just installed Slackware 12.0. I have no idea what to do next. Are there any getting started tutorials? I accidentally hit enter when I was setting up my root password and now I don't know it. The cursor didn't move so I thought I had a keyboard problem. I hit tons of keys and the last key was enter so now I fear I am totally screwed. I just started my associates for programming but we won't get to anything good for awhile. Any help is greatly appreciated.
first try this have you try to use the -s at the boot up -s = single user mode where you can reset your password if that doesn't work than try this http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-reset-a-forgotten-root-password-with-knoppix

arrr slackware is not the best way to learn linux on to being with fedora / centos or Ubuntu :: are easy to learn on than you can move onto the more adv linux / BSD
yeah but I am in school for programming and I was told to learn this from a freind before school has me using fedora.
It's normal that the cursor doesn't move when you type in a password. You can reset the root password like this: http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-reset-a-forgotten-root-password-with-knoppix
