Granted this seems to be designed to work on several platforms but what would be considered the OS of choice or preferred *nix platform?
what are you trying to do like run an network server with samba or an AMP box or just an personal AMP box ??
Basically I figure a LAMP box would be best for me to develop on. Seems an easy way to wipe a test site and create a fresh one rather than reloading a trashed server.
ubutnu or centos anything that is nice and easy ubuntu : is quick incase there is a totaly stuff up and reinstall is needed i normal use a centos in an VM so i can reload from an clean image when i need to
Thanks for the reply. My mistake though as I posted this in the wrong thread. It was meant for ISPconfig/General. Was wanting the general consensus of what was the preferred OS for ISPconfig. I figure its the best way to replicate a shared hosting box to use for site development.
Tried Debian on my 1U server. MB is a Tyan Thunder LE (S2510). Debian didn't like the hardware at all.
