    All,

I am trying to connect my Blackberry to my email sever, however, I cannot access the SMTP server from the internet. Squirrel mail works just fine internally. Any guidance would be appreciated.

most providers block port 25 globally, call your ISP.

    Port Scanner

Here is the results of the port scanner in IPCONFIG.

Port 21 (tcp) is open (ftp)!
Port 22 (tcp) is open (ssh)!
Port 25 (tcp) is open (smtp)!
Port 53 (tcp) is open (domain)!
Port 80 (tcp) is open (www)!
Port 81 (tcp) is open (ISPConfig)!
Port 110 (tcp) is open (pop3)!
Port 143 (tcp) is open (imap2)!
Port 443 (tcp) is open (https)!
Port 953 (tcp) is open (unknown)!
Port 993 (tcp) is open (imaps)!
Port 995 (tcp) is open (pop3s)!
Port 3306 (tcp) is open (mysql)!

    I am trying: mail.yourdomain.com and smtp.yourdomain.com

    I also have a blackberry.

From my experience we only need to set the POP server during the blackberry set up (on web). I don't need to set the SMTP as the blackberry use its own SMTP service.

Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

P.S. The setting of POP in blackberry in a ISPConfig host however requires a bit skill -- you should not provide all the information in the 1st screen of the blackberry email setting on web, in such way the web page will jump to a 2nd screen giving you an option to "provide your own setting", where you can enter all the stuff like "webXX_username", "password", etc.

In this way you can succesfully set up the POP in blackberry.

Although port 25 is shown here, that doesn't mean your ISP isn't blocking it. If you're sure your ISP isn't blocking port 25, make sure your router forwards port 25 to your ISPConfig server.
