Well, to host your own Server and have an IP from your provider seems to be a hard job for understanding DNS-Configuration...in my case. Lets face it, my server-adress is xyz.internetserviceteam.com. Thats also my hostname. ISPConfig uses then this as Nameserver 1 and 2...thats correct? resolf.conf shows: nameserver 217.20.115.1 nameserver 217.20.116.1 ...so shouldn't these be in the Nameserver-field? Second, if I use domain xyz.mydomain.de, I put a standard SOA as mydomain.de on my server-ip. That's fine...now, I put in a config, that I wanna be shure is correct: As first A-Record I have automatically mydomain.de. ...so I wouldn't have to add it manually again. Second A-Record I put in mail (.mydomain.de) because I wanna use it for Outlook. And third I put in ns (.mydomain.de) because (and here is my thought...correct or not?) I put ns.mydomain.de as the first nameserver under options (second nameserver is xyz.internetserviceteam.com again). Is this useless? Plesk does this on another server I own... As CNAME I only took www for mydomain.de And last I took mail as MX 10 because this will be used by Outlook, as I said. Please tell me, if I did something wrong or if I could do better/easier with this config. And, please tell me, what options I should use as SPF record now...would I have to add a SPF-Record with mail as Host and put all options on YES or how would I config this the right way with my configuration...? Actually, these DNS-Entries are not for sending mail over phpmailers that use the mailfunction in php, are they? The phpmailer uses localhost and activated e-mail-accounts...so SPF would/would not need an entry for mydomain.de (without host), would it??
The ips in the resolv.conf have nothing to do with your own nameservers. Usually you find nameserves of your server provider in it. You will use your server ip for your nameserver. Try these howtos: http://www.howtoforge.com/ispconfig_dns_providerdomain_schlund http://www.howtoforge.com/ispconfig_dns_godaddy The first one should work for anyone, because it requires only one server.
Thanks, I knew these links already but couldn't exactly figure out how to deal with them in my case. If it's ok, I write my questions again in german this time: Ich habe mir einen Server bei deinprovider.de geholt.
