    Hi

I'm having problems with my ispconfig server.

Some servers are rejecting emails sent from it with the error:
Client host rejected: cannot find your reverse hostname, [123.123.123.1] (in
    reply to RCPT TO command).

My ispconfig server is ip 123.123.123.4
    My router address is 123.123.123.1

I have setup reverse dns and when i check it at 123.123.123.4 then my hostname is returned correctly.

Why would the mail that is sent be trying to check reverse dns on my routers ip address?

Any help regarding this would be apreciated

    Thank-you

    John

if your server is behind a router you have to set the public ip, the wan ip of the router, in the dns

You will have to call the provider that assigned you the external IP address of your router and tell them to set the reverse record for you. There is no change on your ispconfig server needed for this.
