    Hello All!

I'm putting in a ubuntu workstation that will be shared by a few users.

I would like to have a shortcut to firefox and remote desktop on each users desktop (probably others as well...but you get the idea)

I thought that was handled by adding the information to the skel directory, but after googling, it appears that I'm off track.

Can someone point me in the right direction to solve this problem?

How can I automatically populate the desktop with specific shortcuts for all the users on a system?

    Thanks!

For using Ubuntu, adding a desktop shortcut to an application. how to do this:

    1) Find the program in the Applications menus and right click
    2) Select 'Add this launcher to desktop'
    3) A link to the application will now be on your desktop
    4) You can also add a launcher to the panel, this is basically what the quick start was in Windows
