password length issue

    Hello,

    I noticed that ISPconfig sets passwords to 8 char and it doesn't matter that length I entered them. In the system shell with passwd command everything is fine. I checked the /etc/pam.d/ and here everything seem to be ok, I'm using md5 crypt. How to fix the ISPconfig panel that It could store longer passwords than 8 chars? Thanks in advice.

    MD5 hashing will be supported with the next relaese (2.1.3). Please see this thread for a preview of 2.1.3.

    The md5 hasing can then be activated by a variable in the conf file /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/lib/config.inc.php

    How to activate this feature? I looked to config.inc.php and don't have a clue about md5 :( Thanks.

    As Till said, it will be available in the next ISPConfig version. It isn't available in the current version.
