Hi! First time posting! Long time reading I am going to intall a VPS system as in topic subject: Debian + Lighttpd + MySQL + PHP + ISPConfig Could you point me in the right tuturials? I find many. Some of them include apache (I hate apache!) What about Bind, mailman, sendmail, eaccelerator and so on? Will those be installed? Please point me in the right direction, and make sure not to include apache on it. Here are the tuturials as I think they should be installed in following order: 1 - Installing Lighttpd With PHP5 And MySQL Support On Debian Etch 2 - Integrating eAccelerator Into PHP5 And Lighttpd (Debian Etch) There is another one, but includes Apache (I really really hate it!) The Perfect Setup - Debian Etch (Debian 4.0) Should I use the above, and ignore apache installation? Will ISPConfig work with Lighttpd instead of Apache? Best Regards in Advance!
as far as i know that ISPconfig is only set to work with apache only so ... unless one of the ISPconfig dev comes and post ... i think your going to make your life hard as ... trying to do it sorry unless you have an apache backend server and lighthttp as an front end ( but than you have two www services running overkill )
Thank you for the reply. Edit: I have just found in this link, that I must follow other tuturials before, so that should be in this order: 1 The Perfect Setup - Debian Etch (Debian 4.0) 2 Installing Lighttpd With PHP5 And MySQL Support On Debian Etch 3 Reduce Apache's Load With lighttpd On Debian Etch Can you expert please confirm this is right? Seems I will install apache. As long as I don't really use it anyway, that is cool with me
comes down to how much static pages you have vs non-static .... only thin i can say is try and see how it goes write down any steps / changes you done on the way its try and see good luck ... with it
