I want to configure my laptop for multi-boot. I want to boot SUSE 11.1, Fedora 10 and Ubuntu 8.10 from the same disk. In which order should they be installed so that I can end up with one grub configuration to control all three.
As long as all OS' are Linux, the order is not important. If you want to use windows, you must install Windows first and then Linux.
OK I installed in the following order. Windoze XP Ubuntu 8.10 Fedora 10 openSUSE 11.1 All show up as selections in the suse grub menu and all boot except Ubuntu. I can't figure out why. It gives an error of a file missing when I try to boot Ubuntu. Please help!

Try something like this for the Ubuntu stanza: Code: title Ubuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.27-7-generic root (hd0,4) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.27-7-generic ro quiet splash initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.27-7-generic quiet
