    Hi there,
I'm attempting to rip DVDs, but the Rippers (ACIDrip DVD ripper, DVD Rip, Thoggen DVD Ripper) are not working or at least are not seeing my DVD burner...

Error message reads: Cannot read from source

I am using UBUNTU STUDIO with my Toshiba Satellite P205D-S7438. AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core Processor TK-55, DVD SuperMulti drive with Label flash.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Natty

PS. If anyone knows how to get Pro-tools LE (M-box) working & also Vegas Pro working, that'd be grand...?

    Any errors in your logs?

Does the drive work in other applications?

    Dvd devices not detected

Firstly, thanks so much for replying so quickly... I appreciate that heaps...

I'm able to use the drive as a dvd & cd player in other programs, but the rippers are not seeing it.
DVD Decrypter says: NO DEVICES DETECTED

Not sure what you mean by log... I'm a linux newby...

The log files are located in the /var/log directory. Please check if there are any errors related to your problem in them.

What I am using is Pavtube DVD Ripper.

It is used to convert DVD to many other video and audio formats, such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, MP4, MP3 compatible with iPod, iPhone, PSP, Zune.

I prefer the progam Pavtube DVD Ripper as its after-sale service is good. Last month, I encountered a problem and sent it to them, they replied and solved my problem on time.

So I think when choosing an appropriate program for ourselves, we should consider not only its quality, functions, but also its after-sale service.

Perhaps the Pavtube DVD Ripper can meet your need.It is the most powerful multimedia conversion tool that it support various video formats. I use this tool now and it works great for me.
