MySQL access issue after SVN upgrade

In trying to resolve mysql access issues which appeared to have been resolved in bugtracker, I upgraded my ISPC3.0.0.8RC1 installation via SVN. My original MySQL password did not work in the upgrade because it had a '&' in it, and quotes(double and single) did not help it maintain integrity within the update from svn script. So I changed it to something easier and got the upgrade to complete apparently successfully. Unfortunately I can no longer log in to ISPC and I have not had any luck tracking down where the password is supposed to be stored.

Places I have seen mention of the password:
    /usr/local/ispconfig/server/lib/mysql_clientdb.conf
/usr/local/ispconfig/server/lib/config.inc.php <- This one appears to be hashed

Are there other locations that I should look at to resolve this? At the moment I can't log in at all and would like to get this finished. Thanks for any help.

On second look, it appears that this database was more or less wiped clean from the update. Of the 44 tables in dbispconfig, there are only 3 that have data. I suspect that the database got borked in the process of the update (note to self make a BACKUP next time). I am re-installing from svn instead of the download.

ISPConfig makes a backup of the database during the update. it is stored in the root folder.
