hi for the last one week i am stuck in installing mod_geoip on apache 2.2.9 with redhat. Maxmind people say that they provide help to only paid customers. Can anybody help me here please, i have done everything only in the last step to change httpd.conf and restarting apache , i am having troubles. I have done the following, I followed this tutorial http://forums.theplanet.com/lofiversion/index.php/t20482.html everything works fine but when I restart apache it gives me following error # service httpd restart httpd: Syntax error on line 43 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf: API module structure 'geoip_module' in file /usr/lib/httpd/modules/mod_geoip.so is garbled - expected signature 41503232 but saw 41503230 - perhaps this is not an Apache module DSO, or was compiled for a different Apache version? i even tried this for starting step ./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs and then used apxs but it still failed and gave the same error. thanks in advance

There areseveral apxs files. How di you install Apache? Did you use the packages from your distribution, or did you compile it yourself?
it is a VPS with cpanel/WHM on the backend. Apache etc were all installed already when I get it from the hosting company, I just upgraded Apache to 2.2.9, when it was the latest version, by using cpanel install script which can be run from WHM GUI. There is an option to recompile Apache with PHP etc in WHM, I used that to upgrade Apache because it is a VPS and hosting company support told me if I do it manually, on the next cpanel auto upgrading my changes will be overwritten and some of the parts of cpanel / services might leave working after manual upgrade. Therefore I used WHM Apache upgrade script.
I'd try ./configure --with-apxs with the various apxs versions you got installed until you find the one that works with your Apache.
