I installed ispconfig with this tutorial: www.howtoforge.org/perfect-server-ubuntu8.04-lts and I created a client and a site. If I goto ftp://mydomain.com I only get the incoming folder which may be because this is how it should be with ispconfig and the only way I know to acsess the ftp of the client is to go to the ftp tab in the ispconfig system. if I have to acsess the client ftp only from this tab then can I upload a folder to it not only file ? and also can I upload several files at once?
So you mean you can not use an ftpclient like filezilla to connect to your server via ftp by any chance? If so then you are stuck in the "limitations" of the webftp ispconfig serves.
ok I ask it in other way: main domain for my site is : mydomain.com . I get only incoming folder when I goto : ftp://mydomain.com . the user for an acount is : user1 . I can get to this user ftp folders only in the webftp ispconfig serves . what I need to put in the adress bar in my browser to get to user1 acount ftp not in the webftp ispconfig serves?
a quick question.. i installed ISPConfig 2 and working perfectly. also installed FileZilla. was trying to access the ftp for nameofmysite.com i created nameofmysite.com in ISPconfig, added a user, gave the user administrator privilages and a password abc123. i was trying to connect to ftp through FileZilla. but couldn't connect. could you check the following information is right Host: nameofmysite.com Port: 21 Server Type: FTP logon type: ask for password user: username and then press connect, provide password as abc123. The result i get is "530 Login incorrect. Could not connect to server"
The settings look ok. Please make sure that you username has the form web[ID]_user and not just user.
