Dear all, I am always working with putty and winscp from my windows vista machine to Ubuntu now 8.10 servers. Today I went on with further installing ISPconfig and all of the sudden I cannot connect to my server with ISP installed through putty and winscp. However I can use rsync with SSH without any problem. So what can I do wrong, I have not added yet a record by the firewall ( I complete removed Bastille, to many errors in the logs when starting) and I am also not using DNS (I have installed BIND9 and ISP is claiming that mydns is installed) so in my believe there can be no problem. What I find also strange is that I cannot see any problems in the system error logs. Can somebody help me out here ?
If you have still access to the server with monitor andd keyborad, then take a look at the auth.log and syslog to see what error occurs when you login.
Thanks for the help Problem was in known hosts after deleting the keys in there everything worked again.
