    Hi

I would be a nice feature to include Zimbra or an guide how to get it installed after isp config 3 is up and running.
Zimbra is Open Source running on Linux :

    http://www.zimbra.com/

Some of the features are :

    http://www.zimbra.com/products/whats_new.html

Ability to run as hosted exchange service etc.

One of the big features I'm missing in ISP Config is the possibility to host exchange mail...here at

I think zimbra can be a great ISPConfig addon!

Integrating zimbra nad ispconfig is not possible and does not make much sense as zimbra configures mailservers and ispconfig does that too. You can not install two mailseever controlpanels on the same server.

    till,

Would it be reasonable to be able to have ISPConfig 3 control most hosting systems, but have all e-mail related stuff handled by Zimbra?

I know this would mean IT Admins would have two separate systems to administer, but it should be able to work. shouldn't it?

Just specify the mx record to go to zimbra, and disable all the e-mail server stuff in ispconfig. This way ispconfig controls the dns, websites, etc and zimbra controls the e-mail.

What could be interesting would be to have a plugin that if turned on would disable ispconfig control of mail, and configure it to use the zimbra server. Then any email configuration would just forward to the zimbra part of the site.

This should work. Install ISPConfig 3 in expert mode and choose no when it asks you to configure the email part.

    Kyapanel is integrated to zimbra

This integration made for kyapanel project look it:

    http://www.kyapanel.com/index.php?lang=en

I belive to do it is necessary totaly rewrite a mail module to integrate with zimbra. A separated alternative module to make it. keep the original and can choose at instalation process. Can take ideas for new module mail from kyapanel project.

Acually ispconfig 3 have a complete solution with mail user interface integrated with round cube mail. You can change password, create a spam filter rules, vacation and spam level on user level experience using roundcube interface.

Make the simple things like zimbra. not all thing but basic things.

Zimbra and ISPconfig might be quite possible.
Zimbra has an entire control section based on command line.
So instead of having a postfix script to create an account you add an account to zimbra.
Likely there is something that could be done with LDAP as well.

    http://www.zimbra.com/docs/ne/latest/administration_guide/A_app-command-line.20.3.html

    For example:
zmprov createAccount [email protected] {SSHA}BgR9EwbvVGvxSFChoZs2zoZ cn chris w displayName chris w givenName chris

    Or:
    zmprov CreateDomain domain.com
