which packages can i skip installing from: "The Perfect Server - CentOS 5.3 x86_64..

i'm new to linux and am using your tutorial to setup a server. i'll be using it to send newsletters, it won't be used for anything else.

the software i'm planing on using is 1-2-all (link to requirements)

from what i can tell, all i need on the server is:
MySql
php 4 or 5
GDLib
email server, Sendmail or PostFix. by the way what are the differences in my case of use?
FTP
Ability to set a cronjob

am i missing something?

looking at your tutorial it seems that i'm installing some things that i may not need... for my purposes are there some packages that i can skip?

skipping packages means you will not be following the tutorial meaning noone can help you later because you have done your little own custom configuration.

definitely u can skip mydns if u don't need dns server, as for others depends how u gonna send mail, u need spam protection, website, etc. etc.
