The mysql-devel package is missing. Which distribution do you use?

I got a similar error while updating my system with Fedora 11 32-bit. It was installed according to the Perfect Fedora 11 Server.

Anyone experienced a similar issue? Is there recovery for this? The previous version is gone.

There should be backups of your previous installation in the /tmp directory (backups of /root/ispconfig and /home/admispconfig and a database dump of the ISPConfig database) from which you can restore your previous installation.

Same problem when upgrading from 2.2.29 to 2.2.33. Both directories /home/admispconfig and /root/ispconfig are cleared and no backups under tmp.
When looking script, backups are made in install_ispconfig folder who is destroyed after install.

Is there a way to reinstall the server from importing database content, if all web sites infos are there?

The directory /home/admispconfig is never removed by the ispconfig installer or updater.

    Please post the output of:

    ls -la /home/

right, wrote too fast. admispconfig is still there.

But i need /root/ispconfig for install to proceed and it was deleted and no backup. Tried a way to restore files but even if I could find a way, i think they have been overwritten because i extracted again ispconfig.

Please redo step 9 of the installation manual:

    http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-ubuntu8.04-lts-p3

Then create the /root/ispconfig directory again and run the setup script.

Either you did not change the shell as you installed ISPConfig or you changed it back to /bin/dash afterwards which will cause the compilation of OpenSSL to fail.
