*Newbie* Help with setup of wifi on studio 9.04

Hello all,

I have just installed ubuntu studio 9.04 on my laptop, at the point of setup of my network during the install it had some trouble connecting and started asking for ip addresses that i did not have access to at that point...

My question is...How do I now setup my wifi as i can't access the internet!!!

anyone help please

I guess your WLAN is encrypted? Did you select the right method (WEP, WPA, etc.), and did you provide the right key/password?

 

oh yes, WEP and all passwords are correct....

 

I made a tutorial for WPA if you wish to use it.
I don't think this will work for WEP key, but as it is a very weak security I suggesst you move to WPA / WPA2 if possible.

This should work perfectly fine on any debian based distro including ubuntu since it doesn't use specific software except the WPA module.
