I have a serious problem ! I wanted to create a backup of my primary e-mail, so I used the Fetchmail tool to route all mail in a new mailbox. I went in the fetchmail>fetchmail tab and I found the "get mail" tool. I entered the parameters, I included the new e-mail that I had created and: 1) My box has been emptied (maintained at least 4 years of messages) 2) In the new mailbox is not got nothing !!! Where has all my mail? There is the possibility to recover it? I have ssh access to the server, but I could not find any solution. I hope in your help. Using ISPConfig 3.0.1.3 Thanks
Getmail is not a tool to migrate emails, as every email will get a new date. Getmail is used if you have mailboxes at several providers and want to fetch the emails to one mailbox every x minutes. Normally you migrate emails with a tool like imapsync or you copy the maildir files if the old server sues maildir too. Getmail connects to the mailbox with pop3 and empties the mailbox afterwards. If you did not test before that the target mailbox and the mailserver that is the target of the emails work, it might happen that the emails get lost. But most likely the emails are still in the mailqueue. You can check in the mailqueue with the command: postqueue -p and you can also see in the mail log what happened with the emails and why they did not arrive in the target mailbox.

None of these lines belongs to a sent email. So maybe the emails dont arrive as the dns (MX record) of your domain is pointing to a different mailserver and not this one.
I checked and I realized the error ! MX records have not been configured on this server but point to the GoogleApps server because was exploited with the GMail @mydomain.net. So I lost everything? Or changing MX records do I fix something? Thanks
If the mailbox did not exist on google apps, then most likely yes. But you might have to ask google how they deal with incoming emails in that case. No. As the emails left your server already and google seems to have accepted them.
Ask to Google? This is a big problem ! I think it's time to put my soul in peace and forget... My e-mail are lost ... patience! So on server there's nothing, e-mails were routed directly to Google. Right? Thanks so much for all the explanations and the attention to my case
