I'm testing ispconfig and all seems work fine but just one things i dont understand:

Why use prefix for email address instead to use the domain to separate the email addresses of different domains.

Is there any VALID solution (or is in the roadmap) to bypass this problem?

    Thanx

P.s. I'm coming from win world and im pretty disoriented but im sure i'll get help and i'll be linux user very soon

The prefix is not the domain as linux system usernames are limited in its length and domain names can be longer then the max. lenght of a linux system user. If you want to use the domain, then use ispconfig 3 and not 2 as ispconfig 3 uses virtual users and not linux system users for email accounts.

    Is it possible?

My question now is, i'm a server already in production using ispconfig 2, is it possible to migrate to 3?

    Thanx

No, thats not possible. ISPConfig 3 is a completely different software with differeny system requirements.
