    hi people,
i am looking to host a few websites on a server. so i would like to hear your recommendations.
I just wanted what you guys would recommend as the perfect setup for a web server and host.
In terms of reliabilty, security, ease of configure.
I am a debian user but am wondering if its the most robust.
which distro would you guys recommend i set the server with?

    ubuntu perhaps

ubuntu is debian based distro and has a huge community support. I am a complete novice and set up the server very easily following the Howto on this site. You can then install ISPConfig 2 or 3. It is very important that you follow the Howto word-for-word if you intend to use ISPConfig since the server setup is customised to work well with it.:)

Debian is very stable for a server and ISPConfig has been tested very well on Debian as well. I use ISPConfig on Debian for more then 5 years already and i am very possitive about it. Recommended! Ubuntu which is based on Debian is a very nice distro as well. Ubuntu provides newer software packages, but that does not mean more stable.
