dvd version of ubuntu 9.10 and next release date

    . I like to have DVD of ubuntu 9.10..recent version..but only live cd is available from the site..from where I can get dvd version of it without any cost...from this forum i came to know that ubuntu is mostly used/popular in the world..for this reason i am interesting using it...kindly help me

    I also want to know the next release date for ubuntu....

    Why do you want the DVD? The only benefit is, that it covers all language packs....

    btw it was not that hard (3 clicks and some quick reading) to get there...

    cannot make differences between LTS version and normal version of ubuntu

    thanks...but what is LTS version..I went to the sites but could not make it....it is said that 8.04 LTS is stable ..but recent version is 9.10...next month we could probably have 10.04 LTS version..so which one is better for usage specially desktop version.....kindly help me in this regards..

    my computer have p4..512 mb ram..20 gb hard disk

    LTS is pretty interesting for server usage, if you are not that interested in having the newest version of everything.
    So in the end the support is just much longer of this version for security patches etc. (LTS := long time support). Afaik it's 5 years of support.
    But you won't get any "feature upgrades" during this time, e.g. its rolled out with php5, you won't get an upgrade to php6 (which you even would not get with non LTS just by upgrading to the following normal build)...
