    I follow this configuration -> http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-centos-5.4-x86_64-ispconfig-3

my web sites work fine as virtual host (two different domains).

If I create new email domain (same name as web domain).
and create a new email mailbox. Log on squirrelmail send e-mail to my self and other email accounts. Nothing happen.

    what is wrong?

    thanks:)

I try to send an e-mail to my self at 05:55 o'clock.

I can see the ip is 127.0.0.1. Should this IP-address be the public_address ?

Centos postfix comes without mysql support as default .. you could use the repoplus version, or compile it manually ..

haven't tried this but you could try: yum --enablerepo=centosplus upgrade/install postfix*

hmm maybe is something with the mysql error message.
i tried this as you said - yum --enablerepo=centosplus install postfix*
    But nothing happend

I forgot to tell, if i change my ip-address from public_address to internally lan address.
Suddenly i could send an email. Some emails in queue was sent to my internally email address, other was not. unstable.

    But I dont know.

    what does: postconf -m

    return?

and, you changed your ip where?

I have change the ip address
    /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
    and
    ServerName (ipaddress) in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf

    [root@gakks /]# postconf -m
    btree
    cidr
    environ
    hash
    ldap
    nis
    pcre
    proxy
    regexp
    static
    unix

Well you're still using mysql in postfix, which is not supported, so you must have overlooked a step in the how-to.

    Code:
    vm-mailrelay:/etc/amavis/conf.d# postconf -m
    btree
    cidr
    environ
    hash
    mysql
    nis
    proxy
    regexp
    sdbm
    static
    tcp
    unix
    What is in:
    /etc/postfix/main.cf
    /etc/postfix/dynamicmaps.cf
    /etc/postfix/sasl/smptd.conf

Well, as from the beginning we're still on the fact that ispconfig wants to use mysql for postfix mail, and your centos postfix install DOES NOT have support for mysql, so you should start compiling a postfix with mysql support. In the how-to you have to do that,

look at page 4 of the how-to and look at the part about postfix, it tells you to edit the file postfix.spec and set this:
    Code:
    %define MYSQL 1
    did you forget that? :p

hm, no, I remembered to change that too.
I have checked everything in the how-to, twice.
It should be easy to resolve, i think it's only a parameter like this one, but where.

    %define LDAP 2
    %define MYSQL 1
    %define PCRE 1
    %define SASL 2
    %define TLS 1
    %define IPV6 1
    %define POSTDROP_GID 90
    %define PFLOGSUMM 1

But earlier, when i changed back to the lan-address, suddenly i got e-mails from the mail server. but just some few mails from the queue.
So i think that problem with mysql maybe work !?

If you think it works (although it's highly unlikely, because you have no mysql support and ispconfig needs it for postfix) try this:

    1. set the lan ip, so you can receive mails
    2. send an email
    3. paste the content of the mail log file .. so i can see what happens.

Though i'm thinking you miss mysql libs so postfix tries to see if you have mysql but doesn't use it because it can's find the needed files. ah well .. try the above first.

okei, now i try mail via lan.
    It doesn't work at all.
    exactly same error messages.

yes, maybe I missing a lib for postfix. I dont know.
    How can i check that?

You can see my netstat - maybe you can see something here.

    thanks!

I uninstalled postfix and installed this packet
    http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/sta...-2.3.3-2.el5.centos.mysql_pgsql.i386.rpm.html

i also uninstalled and installed squirrelmail again.

    But i think i still have a "mini-problem".
I can now send an e-mail out to other e-mail accounts. But i can't receive anyone. I try to send an email to my self, but i dont get anyone..
Only if i send emails to other accounts like hotmail gmail etc. they will get the email now.

    nice .. we're a step closer :)

    tail -f /var/log/maillog

after that, send an email to yourself, and post the log lines

thanks. it's something at the server which stopped the mail in to the server.
I have checked the firewall and its sets to any - any. iptables is turned off.
I have seen in a file /etc/mail/sendmail.mc but sendmail aren't in use, right?

    Code:
    tcp 0 0 *:smtp *:* LISTEN 18960/master
tells me, postfix listens on all ip's .. though from the outside i can't reach 192.113.11.204

Is the ip/subnet added to the "mynetworks" in main.cf ?

i only see 127.0.0.1/8 in your config.

    Change:
    From - mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8
    To - mynetworks = 192.113.11.204, 127.0.0.0/8

    nano /etc/postfix/master.cf
    Change:
    From - smtp inet n - n - - smtpd
    To - 0.0.0.0:smtp inet n - n - - smtpd
