I am a noob and with the help of Mike and my friend I have added domains to the client account. Is it possible for a separate cp for each domain ? if yes, then do I need to add a reseller account, as currently I have added none, I just have added 1 client account and 2 domains under it. All I am looking forward is for using the cp for file manager, creating ftp users, I could create ftp users using the admin interface but I can't find file manager for the domains. The other, query I got is, what is the folder location for the domain ? Usually under cPanel, it was /home/admin/domain/public_html, what is it for the ISP looking forward for some assistance to kick off
Just add a new client for every domain. http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42573 /var/www/domain/web/
hi mate thanks for the reply, do I need to create new dns template for each client user or the one created as default is enough ? The nameservers and remaining all are going to be same as the default one. the other doubt is how to access domain based cp ? I just tried accessing my domain based cp for the ns one, and it took me to the admin cp. I used :8080 after domain, like mydomain.com:8080
You use the default template. There are no client specific templates needed. The Controlpanel is the same vor every admin, client and reseller. You just enter the username and password of the client to get access to the clients websites instead of the admin login.
so, if I have 2 users named, simi and roni and domain placed under each user, called domain1 and domain2 then what will be the location for domain1 ? will it be : /var/www/domain1/web/ ?? I would like to know exact location as I have some files to be transferred from other host via ssh and in-complete location will force me to upload file which is over 1gb and which is impossible to upload for my speeds
yes, but each user can have more than one domain name yes if you want to use ispconfig ssh user, you must create ssh user from ispconfig web (with limited shell access of cource/chrooted). and if you want to transfer files, please use scp and copy to folder /web: scp yourfiles.tar.gz user@domain:/web but if you want to use local ssh users, then you can send files to /var/www/domains/web/
