I have setup ubuntu 10.04 with ispconfig3. I am bringing over users mail from a Freebsd box. Now what directory does ubuntu put users mailboxes? I looked in the /var/mail but don't see any of the users I have setup?

    Thanks

Check in /var/vmail. I use Debian Lenny so it should be the same directory structure (or close to it for this application). This is assuming that you are using ISP Config 3 to setup the mailboxes. If you are not using ISP Config to configure the email boxes, than I do not know where they would be. Use ISP Config to create your web and net stuff, from databases, ftp users and shell users - even mailboxes attached to websites.

I assume that you are referring to these type of mail, and not system mail from the old BSD box, right?

Seems as if you're using Maildir. In this case, emails are stored in the Maildir directory in each user's homedir.
