Centos 5.5 DNS Issue

I installed Centos 5.5 and ISPConfig 3. All seems well except for dns. named-checkconfig and checkzone seem fine. The dns server will not answer it to any requests. I get connection timed out; no servers could be reached. I removed bind-chroot and reinstalled it but I am having no luck. I looked through all of the config files and they seem to be ok.

I would appreciate any help I can get.

 

I renamed named.conf and created new one and pasted the info from the guide and it still does not work.
I stopped and restarted named with no luck. Is there something I need to do to tell bind to accept connections???
