    Hi there,

I just installed ISPconfig 3 with fedora 13 hoping that it will make my life easier for administrating a couple of sites I want to host from home.

My question is, is it possible to have on the same server 1 IP based website and 2 name based websites and set this up using ISPconfig? also, is this possible if the server is behind a router? so the server will have an internal IP but the router will forward needed ports (eg 80, 443, 110 etc) requests to it?

    thanks !

Not an answer to your questions, but you should also make sure you can run a webserver on your internet connections. In the US lots of residential ISP's block http and have TOS that don't allow a web server.

thanks for your reply. My ISP only blocks port 25 which is OK. I can use their SMTP server for sending out emails.

If you don't have a fixed public ip on your connection you'll need to use a dynamic dns server. I have fixed ip's and yes, I just forwarded all the necessary ports through my router to the server internal ip.

I don't know if you can use ip-based websites with ispconfig3 but I don't think so.

No, it supports only name-based vhosts.
