I have installed ISPConfig 3 as DNS server and web server and also mail server. All installed correctly. I use CentOS 5.5 32 bit and ISPConfig 3.0.2.2

I have created email domain with name domain.tld and also created email mailbox with name [email protected]

The problem is when I use the squirellmail webmail, I have to input "[email protected]" as the username.

    I access the webmail through : www.domain.tld/webmail

    Is this normal?

Can I use just "client1" as username for all user mailbox?
Is there any way to do this?

One more thing, I installed ntp in my server for synchronizing clock. But I notice that sometimes the server clock will change and this caused the dovecot to kill itself. This happens frequently in interval a week or less.

Is there something that I can do to avoid this? Or I'll just have to kill ntp?

The username of email accounts is the email address.

    don't understand

    So, there's no way?

The username must be "[email protected]", can't be just "client1"?

    Is this what you mean?

Yes. The username is the email address.

    ntp

How about the ntp? Did anyone ever try ntp with dovecot and postfix?

From what I found, looks like the change in system clock will kill dovecot.

Is there any way to fix this? Or I'll just have to kill ntp?

You can stop ntp if you dont need it. I never experienced any problems with it on my mailservers.
