Hi Everyone, I wonder why my system cant send a notification about the problems/issues to my yahoo mail or google. ,actually the system is about monitoring ...can somebody here know's how to set up a mail server in centos..because i want to change the configuration..and also i want to grant access or locate the destination for my email notification.. How can I do that?
Any errors in your mail log? Also make sure that your server isn't blacklisted: http://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx
regarding the email notification in nagios Is it possible to set up Postfix to send e-mails to an outside address such as a gmail.com address from a .local address?
the log files under /var/log/maillog [root@localhost ~]# Aug 18 15:09:45 localhost postfix/qmgr[2717]: 399491E1385: from=<nagios@localhost.localdomain>, size=541, nrcpt=1 (queue active) bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(' [root@localhost ~]# Aug 18 15:10:44 localhost postfix/smtp[9809]: connect to e.mx.mail.yahoo.com[67.195.168.230]: Connection timed out (port 25) bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(' [root@localhost ~]# Aug 18 15:11:42 localhost postfix/smtp[9809]: connect to f.mx.mail.yahoo.com[98.137.54.237]: Connection timed out (port 25) bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(' [root@localhost ~]# Aug 18 15:12:39 localhost postfix/smtp[9809]: connect to h.mx.mail.yahoo.com[66.94.236.34]: Connection timed out (port 25) bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(' [root@localhost ~]# Aug 18 15:13:37 localhost postfix/smtp[9809]: connect to a.mx.mail.yahoo.com[67.195.168.31]: Connection timed out (port 25) bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(' [root@localhost ~]# Aug 18 15:14:34 localhost postfix/smtp[9809]: connect to c.mx.mail.yahoo.com[206.190.54.127]: Connection timed out (port 25) bash: syntax error near unexpected token `(' [root@localhost ~]# Aug 18 15:14:34 localhost postfix/smtp[9809]: 399491E1385: to=<celvando213@yahoo.com>, relay=none, delay=290, delays=0.16/0.01/290/0, dsn=4.4.1, status=deferred (connect to c.mx.mail.yahoo.com[206.190.54.127]: Connection timed out) bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('
It seems that port 25 is either blocked by your ISP or it's closed by you firewall. Where is this server, at you house or in datacenter?
.. ..Is in the datacenter ....so that means only in the ISP would be the problem?.(regarding firewall.)..
another maillog When i change it to my google account..here's the log files.: Sep 6 17:32:03 localhost postfix/qmgr[2711]: 916A51C8F63: to=<loremuelgadrinab@gmail.com>, relay=none, delay=91, delays=0.25/91/0/0, dsn=4.4.1, status=deferred (delivery temporarily suspended: connect to alt4.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[209.85.229.27]: Connection timed out) [root@localhost ~]# Anyone here ,,,have some idea?
