I'm trying to install on a Ubuntu Server, 10.04... I followed the recommended cookbook instructions and then went on to the ISPConfig install. It appears to be trying to install for Apache V 1.3.41 at the point of failure... I can't find any place to tell it otherwise, but I'm running Apache 2.2. I also greped for SEO w/o luck... Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu) Linux vm-u-server 2.6.32-24-generic #43-Ubuntu SMP Thu Sep 16 14:17:33 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux errors:
I am definitively not an expert on ISPConfig, but I just noticed that you linked to the setup for Ubuntu 9.10, while you say you are trying to setup a 10.04. I don't know if it matters, but maybe this tutorial is better suited for you? http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-ubuntu-10.04-lucid-lynx-ispconfig-2 Just my two cents... Rgrds, Primaxx
The above error occurs if a Linux system uses dash as replacement for the bash shell. Please do step 9 of of the tutorial that primaxx linked above to reconfigure that. http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-ubuntu-10.04-lucid-lynx-ispconfig-2-p3
Thanks ISPConfig is up and running... I found the 10.04 tutorial after I posted this thread... I don't think there are any gross differences, but I just went through it again to make sure I didn't miss anything, starting from step 5. In retrospect I may have missed step 9 the previous times. I already had a working system and was scanning for a good starting point... It's very encouraging to get good answers so quickly. BTW, the 10.04 tutorial link is absent from the Installation Instructions for ISPConfig 2
