    I was very interested in playing around with Zabbix after i read the guide on here, and i folowed it, but there seems to be a problem with apache, since when i navigate to where its supposed to be i get the Access forbidden! page and thats all.

    In which folder did you install Zabbix? Which distribution do you use?

    i am using mandriva free 2006, and i beleive if i understand your question i installed it to the /home/zabbix folder as the guide instructed.

    And you copied the web frontend to /home/zabbix/public_html? Did you add this to your apache configuration?
    Code:
    <Directory /home/*/public_html>
      AllowOverride FileInfo AuthConfig Limit Indexes
      Options MultiViews Indexes SymLinksIfOwnerMatch IncludesNoExec
      <Limit GET POST OPTIONS PROPFIND>
        Order allow,deny
        Allow from all
      </Limit>
      <LimitExcept GET POST OPTIONS PROPFIND>
        Order deny,allow
        Deny from all
      </LimitExcept>
    </Directory>
    Did you restart Apache?
    If is does not work, copy the frontend to /var/www/html, that's the location of Mandriva's default web page.

    i did that, and it still doesnt work, even copying it to the /var/www/html folder makes that folder all of a sudden give a 403 forbidden error.

    What URL did you use?
    What exactly did you change in your Apache configuration?

  7. wompsq

    wompsq New Member

    the url i used was the http://IPADDRESS/~zabbix
    then when i moved it into the default /var/www/html folder i just used teh ip address. the apache config file was in a slightly different location than specified, it was in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf instead of teh location /etc/apache/httpd.conf as outlined in the guide. i just added the text that was provided at the bottom of the file.
