Hi, I have ISPConig3 installed on SuSe11.3 I have setup the mail server, the addresses [email protected] and [email protected] send mail out through my mail client (Win 7 Live Mail). Messages sent to the above addresses does not arrive, I get a message that the mail has not been delivered and server will try for another 5 days. I have been over the forum but can not see a simple instruction. I have checked dig mail.pcrental.net.au and dig mx pcrental.net.au and all looks OK Cheers Ron
You could try something like Code: tail -n100 /var/log/mail to view the last 100 lines from the mail log.
Sorry for the delay in replying, Did this LOGIN and LOGOUT seem ok Last line is where the problem is: postfix/smtpd warning host 78-145-dymanic-50-82-r.retail.telecomitalia.it SASL LOGIN authentication failed: authentication failure I have found plenty of posts on the subject, but none on a SuSe 11.3 OS I will keep looking Emails are being set out OK, just not coming in.
Can you post some more lines from your mail log? Please check if your MX records are ok. You can check it as follows: Code: dig mx yourdomain.com
Email issue Thanks for your help and advice. I don't know how to copy the results from the server screen into this Forum. This is what I have found and I will just recap. Suse 11.3 ISPConfig3 mail going out OK no mail coming in. I ran dig mx pcrental.net.au the results look ok HOWEVER in the Answer Section it says; pcrental.net.au 86400 IN MX 10 mail.pcrental.net.au I ran the same commands on another domain hosted on a commercial server that email works on and the line read; bwf.com.au 14400 IN MX 0 bwf.com.au [instead of mail.bwf.com.au] mail.xxx is coming from the DNS. ? Your thoughts please.
You can use PuTTY to connect to your server. With PuTTY, you can use Copy&Paste. Does mail.pcrental.net.au point to the correct server? You can check that with Code: dig mail.pcrental.net.au
Hello, When you select the text, you had copy already, i dont know if i explein well. For copyng only select the text and later paste it here. Salut
