Which distribution are you using? If it's an RPM-based distribution (Fedora, CentOS, Mandriva, SUSE), it should be no problem as the download is an rpm file.
You could try to use the rpm with alien, but I'm not sure if it works: http://www.howtoforge.com/converting_rpm_to_deb_with_alien
