Dear All, i have some problems with the installation of the myDNS System incl. myDNS Config. First of all that´s my first DNS Server Installation. I would like to use myDNS instead of bind/powerDNS DNS Server. Now i install the myDNS + myDNSconfig with the following howto: http://www.howtoforge.com/installing-mydns-ng-and-mydnsconfig-3-on-debian-lenny-p2 If i would like to add a secoundary DNS server and i fill out the server config i get the follwing error message: Unknown column 'auto_network_configuration' in 'field list' What´s wrong? I fill out all fields in the config frontend. Another question who i can find a documentation for the myDNS-ng system? All what i found are the following: http://www.mydns.pl/docs/html/ Is it possible to get one of this documentation also in german ? I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance. best regards, Harald
Where/when exactly do you get this error? That's the correct location. AFAIK, there's no German documentation.
Dear Falko, i get this error if a press the "safe" button after i fill out all fields which i can fillout with the second dns server config like "servername.domain.tld & server IP address" I install the mydns-ng & mydnsconfig with the quoted howto. If i look into your howto i see that you add some more tables to the mysql server is this the reason why it don´t work on my installation? And another question to you, what i must do if i would like to use any external "mysql server" in the mydns-ng & mydnsconfig installation ? Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance. Harald
Where do I add some more tables? Are you sure you followed the tutorial to the letter? During the MyDNSConfig installation, you must specify the hostname/IP of the remote MySQL server: MySQL server hostname [localhost]: remote.host.name Please make sure that the remote MySQL host is configured to allow remote connections.
Hello, concerning the mysql config i know what you mean and it works. But the error which have if i add a secondary nameserver to the config are allready exist. I check now all regarding your howto but i can´t find the bug in my config. Is it possible hat you can help me in this case ? Can you help me with the installation of (myDNSconfig) lighttpd instead of apache2 I´m looking forward to your reply. Thanks in advance. best regards, Harald

But now i have any other difficult question, what i must do to install mydns-ng & mydnsconfig on a system based on lighttpd instead of apache2? Can you help me in this case ? Than iwould like to use mydns on small system (80MB RAM) with lighttpd installation. I hope you can help me than i can´t find any howto online for this combination of http server. Basically it should be the same once you have set up Lighttpd with PHP and MySQL (e.g. as shown in this tutorial: http://www.howtoforge.com/installing-lighttpd-with-php5-and-mysql-support-on-debian-squeeze ).
