Hey everyone. I Really hope someone else has come across this. So quick run down my server was Debian 5 but has been upgraded to Debian 6. In the upgrade process I made sure to keep bash, fixed the issue with MySQL and skip-bsd. Everything seems to go as planed. But did not. When I was able to log back into ISPConfig 3 control panel its was stating that the Email (Pop3/Imap) was offline so I just went ahead and commented out the seive stuff on the dovecot.conf for a quick fix (So this is one issue I need help with). But the BIGGEST problem is that Bind doesn't seem to be working. It says its online and working in ISPConfig 3 but the domains cannot be accessed. I can get to them through FTP using the servers IPs. But nothing else. Please if you have any ideas let me know. This is a server that runs a big website for a client so I need to try and fix it asap. Thanks
download ispconfig 3 tar.gz and tsrat the update.php script inside. Choose yes when the updater asks you if it shall reconfigure services.
Hey Till thanks for the quick response. I downloaded the ispconfig3 extracted it and ran the update script, reconfigured the services and still the same results. I see this one in the mail error log : Fatal: Plugin cmusieve not found from directory /usr/lib/dovecot/modules/lda As for the dns stuff its totally not working now. Before I was able to get to the domain like domain.com but not able to access any subdomains like www.domain.com. Also thought it might help to know what I can send out emails from my computer so it seems to be authenticating that, just cannot receive any messages Thanks again for trying to help. I really wanted to use Squeeze so I hope these are just little issue we can solve. Steven.
These are the current files in the lda directory: lib01_acl_plugin.so lib20_listescape_plugin.so lib10_quota_plugin.so lib20_mail_log_plugin.so lib11_trash_plugin.so lib20_virtual_plugin.so lib20_autocreate_plugin.so lib21_fts_squat_plugin.so lib20_convert_plugin.so lib90_sieve_plugin.la lib20_expire_plugin.so lib90_sieve_plugin.so lib20_fts_plugin.so I also tried changing the lda plugins from saying sieve to cmusieve and still nothing new. I can send the mail out but nothing is delivered to the email address. Thanks again!
Also forgot to mention this happened after I redid the ispconfig update.php script. I cannot access the control panel on a non https protocol. If I do I get this message: Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Reason: You're speaking plain HTTP to an SSL-enabled server port. Instead use the HTTPS scheme to access this URL, please.
Okay so this was just all messed up I went ahead and just redid the server. But not I have almost the same problem. It seems that bind is just not working. I can send emails (However cannot receive them guessing related to not being able to access the sites), use the ISPConfig 3 control panel, etc... Just cannot access the domains. Please let me know if you can help, it would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!! Here is the output of netstat -tap encase it may help: Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name tcp 0 0 website.com:domain *:* LISTEN 7418/named tcp 0 0 u1500000.online:domain *:* LISTEN 7418/named tcp 0 0 localhost.locald:domain *:* LISTEN 7418/named tcp 0 0 *:ftp *:* LISTEN 7399/pure-ftpd (SER tcp 0 0 *:ssh *:* LISTEN 5503/sshd tcp 0 0 localhost.localdoma:953 *:* LISTEN 7418/named tcp 0 0 *:smtp *:* LISTEN 6461/master tcp 0 0 localhost.localdo:10024 *:* LISTEN 6545/amavisd (maste tcp 0 0 localhost.localdo:10025 *:* LISTEN 6461/master tcp 0 0 *:mysql *:* LISTEN 6263/mysqld tcp 0 48 website.com:ssh 223.243.91.184.cf:49567 ESTABLISHED 4829/0 tcp6 0 0 [::]op3 [::]:* LISTEN 7328/couriertcpd tcp6 0 0 [::]:imap2 [::]:* LISTEN 7300/couriertcpd tcp6 0 0 [::]:http-alt [::]:* LISTEN 7380/apache2 tcp6 0 0 [::]:www [::]:* LISTEN 7380/apache2 tcp6 0 0 [::]:tproxy [::]:* LISTEN 7380/apache2 tcp6 0 0 [::]:domain [::]:* LISTEN 7418/named tcp6 0 0 [::]:ftp [::]:* LISTEN 7399/pure-ftpd (SER tcp6 0 0 [::]:ssh [::]:* LISTEN 5503/sshd tcp6 0 0 ::1%11834240:953 [::]:* LISTEN 7418/named tcp6 0 0 [::]:https [::]:* LISTEN 7380/apache2 tcp6 0 0 [::]:imaps [::]:* LISTEN 7317/couriertcpd tcp6 0 0 [::]op3s [::]:* LISTEN 7345/couriertcpd tcp6 0 0 localhost.localdo:imap2 localhost.localdo:39646 TIME_WAIT - tcp6 0 0 u1500000.onli:http-alt 223.243.91.184.cf:50600 TIME_WAIT - tcp6 0 0 u1500000.onli:www 223.243.91.184.cf:50599 TIME_WAIT -

Thanks guys!
Ok, can you post /etc/bind/named.conf.options, /etc/bind/named.conf.local, and /etc/bind/named.conf.default-zones as well?
