    Since 3.0.3.3 I experience a lot of SIGWINCH notices from Apache, but not starting up Apache again. I never had this before.

    First I found that, from 3.0.3.3 on, quota's seem to be strict, over-quota sites get disabled automatically. I raised the quota. But still Apache2 catches catches SIGWINCH without starting again.

    No indication in the Apache error.log file giving me a clue ... :

    Anyone experiencing the same issue and found a solution?

    Kind regards,

    Thats all fine. The system is relaoding apache for config changes instead of restarting it to avaoid taht apache becomes unavailble.

    OK, but then all of a sudden, all my virtual hosts are down and unavailable. Restarting Apache through cli first gives me a no pid file running when trying to shut down and then it starts again. So cli manually, apache starts, but through the SIGWINCH ispconfig is calling, it does not start up again.

    Your Linux system should allow it to use "/etc/init.d/apache2 reload" which ispconfig is using. So if it fails on your system, you might have to modify the apache start script so that it does a restart too when the reload parameter is used.

    What config changes in ispconfig can I invoke to test the SIGWINCH trigger from ispconfig?

    I never had this issue before the upgrade from 3.0.1 to 3.0.3.3.

    CLI /etc/init.d/apache2 reload works without a problem.

    Thanks.

    Change line 142 in /usr/local/ispconfig/server/mods-available/web_module.inc.php from:

    exec($conf['init_scripts'] . '/' . $daemon . ' reload');

    to:

    exec($conf['init_scripts'] . '/' . $daemon . ' restart');

    Which Linux distribution do you use?

    OK, I see how to change the apache reload to restart config change.

    I'm using Ubuntu 8.04LTS in a Xen virtual machine. The host system is also Ubuntu 8.04LTS.

    Since 2009 using this config together with ispconfig, this is the first time having this apache trouble.
