Syslog Warning

    Hi Guys,

    I got this log from my server. do you know what is the meaning of this?

    Oct 3 14:59:50 kernel: [519680.590012] TCP: Peer 189.223.220.139:63337/80 unexpectedly shrunk window 228221533:228225853 (repaired)

    You can safely ignore these "informational" messages. Nothing to worry about since it's the clients causing this, not you.

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks. But my server suddenly slowed down during this time. What does that log mean?

    It's a client messing with the tcp window size, this is just a INFO message from the kernel that it fixed that window size. That's it ..

    You're server being slow is most-likely because of something else. If you get tons and tons of these INFO messages, it might be someone who's trying to mess around with your server.
