Hi everyone! I have a problem which i can't understand. I had installed an Ubuntu 10.10 x86 server a few months ago for some SQL and Samba usage. I have a programming project and i have to use the MySQL for that. A few days ago i was unable to connect to this computer. I went to the customers site and found that the machine is powered but stuck in a point at boot process it can't go ahead. The boot loader not starts up so i was unable to start the system. First i tried with Ubuntu 10.10 installer disc's "boot from hard drive" command and system boots up. I think it would be a problem which was caused by any auto update. I don't know exactly, i'm a bit new in Linux. So the question is, how can i repair the system the boot up again and how to make sure it can't happen next time? Thank's for your help!
Problem solved I'm sorry, i had solved this problem yesterday just forget to close the topic. The solution can be very simple many times, so it's an advice to everyone to simplify problems like this. It was just a boot order problem in the system bios, so there was two hard drives in the same model and after a power failure the order was changed. I don't know how and why but after i have changed the order the system was booting up.
Great it happens once for me but it issues was i have two OS suddenly crashed then i noted that log file crashed issue resolved.
