    1) Which Linux distribution do you use?
    2) Which php mode is enabled in the website of the domain that you use to access phpmyadmin?

    1) Debian GNU/Linux 5.0 (i used the perfect setup guide.. and everything was working until couple days ago)

    2) Fast-CGI, however I have also tried with the main hostname (I don't know what php this uses) and I get the same thing

    any suggestions?

Seems as if mod_php is either not installed or damaged.

    Try:

    apt-get install libapache2-mod-php5

and if this wont work, try:

    apt-get install --reinstall libapache2-mod-php5
