Hi all, Possibly a question aswered before. The situation: Client and site created by admin or reseller, IP address is a wilcard (*) and the client can't change it. However, there is no possiblity to hide the IP address and when a client can add domeinnames to his account and change the wildcard to the ip address it's taken and every site is pointing to his website??? Maybe I do something wrong but I've tested several times and every time the outcome is the same, IP address taken. Can someone give me a clue??? Ronald
Till, I've noticed that option, however, the regular situation is that customers can see the IP address in the puldownmenu, thay also can select the IP address but when they save the config the wildcard is shown. In pther words they can't take the IP address. In the situation as described the can take the IP address for their own use... I'll test this tonight again, maybe I find something Ronald
Customers can only see ip addresses that are globally available. So if you want to hide a ip address for other customers, just assign them to the customer that uses this IP. If the IP is not used, then remove it under System > Server IP as only IP's that are in use.
Till, I will refrase my question, possibly i wasn't clear enough. I have multiple IP adresses, all used for SSL except 1 which i use for regular websites. I do have to add this one to the IP address list , right? I have created a reseller, when the reseller creates a website for a client of his own it is possible to claim the IP address for that website resulting that all websites pointing to that particular website. However, the client can't claim the IP address, it wil go back to the wildcard (*) when saving the changes. Please advise, Ronald
Thats not required if you use * instead in the websites that point to this IP. If clients should not be able to get this IP address, then create a new client (owned by the admin and not a reseller) and assign the IP to this client, so that the IP cant be assigned to any other client. But you dont have to add this IP at all as described above.
Till, Tnx for the info, I removed the IP adres from the Control panel and tested it with the websites already present, no problems detected. Either the reseller and customer do have a wildcart (*) in the IP address option. TNX again! Ronald
