@Chaloum: Please post the exact error messages form the mail log. @Raina: Please make a new thread. Optimizing of spamfilter settings is a different topic then the problems that Chaloum posted.
Apr 13 15:42:20 server1 postfix/smtp[2557]: 02D1624185F: to=<[email protected]>, relay=smtp.gmail.com[209.85.225.108]:587, delay=1.9, delays=0.08/0.02/1.5/0.24, dsn=5.7.0, status=bounced (host smtp.gmail.com[209.85.225.108] said: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. i7sm1727004igq.11 (in reply to MAIL FROM command)) this above it the full line this is exactly the issue "Must issue a STARTTLS command first" It's been working for a week or so and now not working
You sid that pop and imap is not working and that smtp is not stable. Please post the errors regarding these issues.
The thread you linked does not contain any error messages reagrding pop3 or imap. Please take a look at your maillog and post recent error messages of these services that appear in the log when you connect to a mailbox on the server with a pop3 or imap client.
Till Ive been there if you read the thread pop and smtp refuse to start there are on other errors it just refuses to start SMTP now nolonger works, its error is ,,,,,,,"Must issue a STARTTLS command first"
pop and smtp are started on your server, you verified that with the netstat -tap command in that thread. So the problem is not that these services are not started. Please do what I suggested above.
Posting links to old threads will not help to solve your problem. But they were started at the time you made the other threads, so you see why it makes no sense to post links to outdated information. Post the output of that you get now on your server: netstat -tap
Till No I didn't say that Is said, "I thought that originally started" I am not sure that they ever started
We are now moving away from resolving the issue of which I have two 1) IMAP and POP dont work 2) STMP requires the STARTTLS to be issued and is in the error "Must issue a STARTTLS command first" I need to at least get the STMP resolved.
you've gone again. This is why there are so many threads on the same issue that have never been resolved. 1) The webmail output is no indication that the imap service is not started. It can also be a wrong setting in webmail, the hosts file etc... 2) We are not moving away from the issue, you just dont post the requested fresh output of the commands so I cant help you. Maybe some one else likes to help you without getting recent information, but I dont want to waste my time with that.
Ok, so you posted recent output, thanks. The services are running fine, thats what I told you already above. So the issue is most likely in your host configuration. Post the content of the file /etc/hosts
