I checked on our new server this morning after some phone calls of the webmail not responding. I ran ps aux | grep apache | wc -l and had 153 processes of apache running, and apache was not answering.

The ISPConfig3 control panel was also not responsive. at this point i rebooted the server to get services running again, but what can i do to prevent this kind of behavior in the future??

Apache can only hang if you did nt edit the ispconfig.conf file in the way that its explained in the bugtracker. So you might want to check again that you really disabled mysql in vlogger.

to clarify, after i rebooted the machine after apache hung, i was going through the error logs. when i seen the vlogger errors, i searched here and found that bug/fix and applied it. That was this morning. Server has been running fine since then, I just wasnt aware the vlogger problem was the root of my apache hanging problem. It hasnt happened since i applied the fix, and the messages in the error log have ceased.

So to sumarize, the fix was applied, and server is running fine at this point, it hasnt seized since i applied it.

    Thanks again

Same Issue, but in Cent OS 6.3

I am experiencing the exact same issue, only on Cent OS 6.3. Apache is freezing every 5-10 minutes with no errors logged. Is there a fix for Cent OS 6.3 as well?

I go into more detail in my main post: http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58039

This has already been fixed in the last ispconfig version, so just update to ispconfig 3.0.4.6. If it still occurs afterwards, then your problem is not related to this thread.
