    Hi all,

I might going to like this panel and want to use it, but why is MyDNS, which is out of dev for years as far as I can see, chosen over PowerDNS that is higly maintained ?

I prefer PowerDNS over MyDNS when it comes to SQL based DNS servers, think and hope more people would.

    Cheers,

    Matt

The recommended dns server for ispconfig is BIND and not mydns or powerdns.PLease see recent setup guides. Powerdns is supported as well but not that often used with ispconfig.

I'm using it too. PowerDNS is actually pretty good, it removes the demand for master/slave (all are backed by SQL or another backend) effectively making them all masters of sorts.

And I have never seen anyone be more enthousiastic about DNS than its core developer, Bert. :)

Mirroring is done by ispconfig internally and in a redundant way (no singlepoint of failure like a central database). So you dont need a master/slave setup for any of the supported dns servers (BIND, MyDNS, PowerDNS) in ispconfig 3.
