I followed The Perfect Server - CentOS 6.5 x86_64 (Apache2, MySQL, PHP, PureFTPD, Postfix, Dovecot, ISPConfig 3)
I can't log into mail server remote only local ,i can send mail out but not receive mail from remote server i have setup the proper MX and A records.
Either the port is blocked by firewall or there is a problem in tutorial setup when i installed squirlmail it did not look same there are 2 screens dovecot and courier??
i sent mail local to mail box it gets there no problem, the error i get Sorry, remote :we were unable to deliver your message No MX or A records???
what it means is if i send mail to ispconfig3 user from yahoo that is error i get, if i send mail from squirrelmail/ispconfig to yahoo account it get there no problem.

Are you able to send and receive emails with webmail? An easy test if the local mailsystem works is to login to webmail with a account hosted on the server and send a email to the same address that you used to login to webmail. The email shall arrive within a minute back to your account when the local mailsystem works. If the email does not arrive, then check the mail.log as described below.

    - Post the error message(s) that you get in the mail log file when the problem occurs. The mail log file is in the folder /var/log/, it is named "mail.log" on Debian and Ubuntu Linux and named "maillog" on other distributions.

if i send webmail to myself it does work, if i send webmail to my yahoo account it gets there no problem.
If i send mail from my yahoo account to my ispconfig3 server i get the error:
Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message, No MX or A records.
So no receiving mail from outside source.

Your problem is a dns problem, not email problem. Add a dns MX record that points to the hostname of your server in the dns zone of that domain and ensure that the hostname of your server has a valid dns record as well.

looks like my records have not propagated on dns odd i see them on godaddy but when i do dns check they are not there.
Ahhh i was using classic page switched back the records reverted it didn't save changes re-did them and all is working now.
I have created a mail box for domain all mail seems to go there eg [email protected] i created another mail box called [email protected] all mail drops to [email protected]
i then deleted [email protected] mail box and made it again now everything is working great!.
