    Hi,
Before we start, I'm a total noob.
Ive installed ubuntu 14.04, LAMPS, set up a domain and followed Till's ISPConfig install instructions to the best of my ability.
I go to https://<mydomain>:8080 and get an 'index of' page, which is bad.
If I go to the ISPConfig folder that shows I get a 500 error.

    PHP and MYSQL are running.

    Apache2 error log gives:
    [Sun Jan 18 08:37:46.647501 2015] [:error] [pid 2861] [client <MY IP>:64970] SoftException in Application.cpp:221: File "/usr/local/ispconfig/interface/web/index.php" is not in document root of Vhost "/var/www", referer: https://<MY DOMAIN>:8080/

I have re-installed everything several times over, checked everything I can and searched for the problem on this site and others for 3 days and still get this issue, please someone help, I know Im probably missing something simple and easy but this is my first webserver.

    Additional,
Sorry, should have included this (HTF output)
[WARN] ip addresses from hostname differ from ifconfig output. Please check your ip settings.
    [WARN] /usr/local/ispconfig/server/lib/config.inc.php is missing.
[WARN] Port 22 (SSH server) seems NOT to be listening
[WARN] I could not determine which web server is running.
[WARN] I could not determine which mail server is running.
[WARN] I could not determine which pop3 server is running.
[WARN] I could not determine which imap server is running.
[WARN] I could not determine which ftp server is running.

BTW the config.inc.php IS on the system
Just a reminder, total noob, dont know where Ive gone wrong, please help
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Sorry to take a while getting back.
Turns out this was mostly a hardware problem, data could be written to HD but big sections were then unreadable.
Changed HD, installed Ubuntu 14.10, followed this Perfect Server tutorial
    and all is well :)
