I had a problem with these steps. Code: mkdir /etc/postfix/ssl cd /etc/postfix/ssl/ openssl genrsa -des3 -rand /etc/hosts -out smtpd.key 1024 chmod 600 smtpd.key openssl req -new -key smtpd.key -out smtpd.csr openssl x509 -req -days 3650 -in smtpd.csr -signkey smtpd.key -out smtpd.crt openssl rsa -in smtpd.key -out smtpd.key.unencrypted mv -f smtpd.key.unencrypted smtpd.key openssl req -new -x509 -extensions v3_ca -keyout cakey.pem -out cacert.pem -days 3650 when I ran: Code: openssl genrsa -des3 -rand /etc/hosts -out smtpd.key 1024 it asked me for the smtp.key and I just used my password except it returned an error. I hope this information can help you help me.
This is just a shot in the dark since I haven't even had a chance to really take a look at the Ubuntu 6.06 install. I'm currently using Breezy Badger and have not yet upgraded but it seems like openssl isn't properly installed. I would try: Code: $sudo apt-get remove openssl $sudo apt-get install openssl
