New to Linux & Ispconfig - be gentle

Followed to the letter excellant Falko manual for Mandriva & ispconfig
Everything ok - set up reseller, client, sites etc. on ispconfig. The domain I am using is pointed to my IP address - FTP is fine. have uploaded new html.

    Problem:

When I try to browse, I get the default "It Works" .html

    Query

Where is the problem area? What should I check?

    Many thanks

Is this ftp_user the admin? If he is a normal user, you are uploading the files to the user documentroot. To upload to website documentroot you must use an admin user.

Sorry by my bad english ;)

Did you try Ctrl-F5 to refresh your internet explorer cache? are you uploading your files inside the "web" folder? are you login in to the correct site? try adding an image or some new file, can you see it?

    Hi,

Yes tried Ctr+F5, FTP is fine I can see my new files.
When I FTP, I can see directories: cgi-bin,ftp,log,phptmp,ssl,user,web.
I upload to web. That is what is so confusing, I can see the files in web!

    Thanks

99% you are login in as another site. Can you access via SSH? go to /home/www/www.yourdomain.com/web, look if your files are there.

    Hello,

looks like it is DNS issue - my hosting company tells me their web forwarding is not reliable and that i should change the dns records.

    Thank you all

If it's still not working, please post your Vhosts_ispconfig.conf here and also the output of
    Code:
    ifconfig
